I'm ThePieHype. I make ASCII text-based horror games.
Not text as a placeholder for graphics. Text as the graphics. Every room, every object, every character you meet is drawn with characters on a screen. A door is ╔═══╗. A bed is {==}. You are @. That's the whole art direction, and it's the whole point.
I got tired of games that look expensive and feel empty. So I went the other way. No sprites, no 3D, no particle effects. Just a black screen, cold terminal text, and a story that makes you lean forward. Turns out constraints make you honest. When you can't hide behind art, the writing has to carry everything.
What's coming next: more of this. Short, dense, replayable text games in the same visual language. Deep space, abandoned ships, and a few things that don't fit either label yet. Each one built around a single idea and a single question.
I like games you can finish in one sitting and think about for a week. Games where the mechanics are simple enough to explain in one sentence and deep enough that the sentence keeps changing.
Follow the page if that sounds like your kind of thing. Feedback, bug reports, and "I found an ending you didn't mention" messages are always welcome.
